The challenge

Thrive Global needed to increase retention rates and grow active app usage among their user base. Separately, they wanted their Mental Health Awareness Month campaign to cut through the noise in a crowded conversation and actually mean something.

What GEM did

We launched a customer retention campaign that drove record app engagement across their user base. For Mental Health Month, we reframed the entire conversation, moving from awareness to action, and created a daily microsteps campaign for Mental Health Action Month, coordinating across all internal teams to bring the concept to life.

The results

The retention campaign produced the highest engagement numbers any campaign had ever generated for Thrive. The Mental Health Action Month campaign earned a feature in the New York Times, validating both the strategic reframe and the creative execution at a national media level.

"Awareness to Action" wasn't just a tagline, it was a strategic repositioning that earned national press and set a new benchmark for what a purpose-driven campaign could do.Featured in The New York Times
